About this event
Each year on the third Monday of January we observe Martin Luther King Day and reflect on the work that still needs to be done for racial equality. This January 20th, make the holiday more than just a day off and take time to reflect and take-action on civil rights issues across the globe. The Major Taylor Cycling Club of North Florida and North Florida Bike Club will take-action with a collaborative riding event. The concept of Martin Luther King Day as a holiday was promoted by labor unions. The union between MTCCNF and NFBC has been phenomenal through various riding events in the past, to include Endless Summer Watermelon Ride and the Memorial Day Ride. Let’s keep this union going with a strong presence of members from each club.
This ride will start and end at the Jacksonville Baldwin Rail Trail. This way you can ride only a little of the trail (15-Miles) or the entire trail (30-Miles). We are also offering 47-Mile option for our A/B riders.
47 mile route
Too early to tell what the weather will look like. In January the temperature ranges from 46-64 degrees.
