About this event
Every year we usher in the New Year with the NFBC all-time club favorite, the YOYO ride on January 1.
By the way, this ride is called the YOYO ride because on New Year's Day we are never sure which stores will be open and there is no sag wagon. You're On Your Own. So, bring enough food and drink to sustain you through the ride.
The ride will depart from Halsema Trailhead on the Jacksonville-Baldwin Rail Trail at 8:30 AM.
We do need to people to help lead the various pace and distance groups. If you can help, please contact ridedirector@nfbc.us.
102 miles routes are available for levels A & B. Only the Century Ride starts at 8:30 AM.
- This registration is only for the Century Ride. If you want to do one of the shorter New Year's Rides, select the event that starts at 10 AM.
- This 102-mile route will take you along some of the nicest and less traveled roads in the beautiful western Nassau County and NW Duval County.
- The weather on January 1 can vary. Some years it might be 75F and sunny. In other years it may be cold, windy and cloudy. Check the weather and wear/bring appropriate clothes.
- There are Rest Stops at mile 24 and mile 56. From mile 56 to mile 90 there are no stores, water, or rest rooms. You're On Your Own (YOYO) for that section. Bring enough food and drink to support yourself. Make sure your phone battery is sufficient as it may be the only way to get assistance.
CALLAHAN DETOUR: Turn left on 5th Avenue from Lem Turner at mile 30.6
No shoulder on King's Highway (23/301) going through Callahan.
Shoulder starts again soon on 301 north of Callhan.
