Dennis Glasscock photos

Dennis Glasscock, a former NFBC President, passed away in early November.  On December 27th, the last Sunday in December, we will ride to honor Dennis and our other past Presidents. We hope to have past Presidents Charlie Fetzer, Jeff Hohlstein, Kevin Pryor, and Mark Atkins attend. We hope you will join us too.

Dennis Glasscock was essential in growing the NFBC to be one of the largest bicycle clubs in the country. He also got us involved in bicycle advocacy, which has made Northeast Florida much safer for cycling than 20 years ago. On Sunday, December 27, 2020, to honor Dennis and our other past Presidents, we will hold a President’s Ride.  We hope to have past Presidents Charlie Fetzer, Jeff Hohlstein, Kevin Pryor, and Mark Atkins attend. We hope you will join us too.

Another legacy Dennis passed down to us was the NFBC club jersey.  While there were a few NFBC jersey’s before Dennis came along, Dennis designed an easy-to-see bright yellow jersey. This jersey was extremely popular, and you will still occasionally see them on the roads of North Florida over twenty years later. For this ride, please wear your OLDEST NFBC jersey. (That still fits)

We will follow one of Dennis’s favorite routes from Friendship Park to the Jacksonville Zoo on this ride. The S/C ride will be 20 miles long. The A/B ride will be 40 miles long.  It may be a little cold, so we will have a rest stop with hot chocolate.  Click on links below for Ride with GPS route files and maps.
