THE 2022 RIDE OF SILENCE

2022 Ride of Silence

Mark your calendar, for the evening Wednesday, May 18, 2022 for the 20th annual Ride of Silence. This is a worldwide ride made up of many locations. Hundreds of cyclists are killed or injured each year. This national ride is to honor those that have been killed. Nationally, it is organized by The RIDE OF SILENCE ORGANIZATION. In Jacksonville, it is being organized by the North Florida Bicycle Club.

The ride exists to:
* To HONOR those who have been injured or killed
* To RAISE AWARENESS that we are here
* To ask that we all SHARE THE ROAD

If you have never been a part of a Ride of Silence, please make it part of your list of things to do in 2022. Bring your NFBC member and non-member friends.

The ride is free. Helmets must be worn and because it is an evening ride, front and back lights are required There is no registration. All you have to do is show up and sign the NFBC ride waiver. The ride is a funeral-type procession, we will ride in a group at a pace all can maintain.

The short 7 mile route will follow San Jose Blvd North to Nathan Krestul Park (La Vaca Rd and San Jose Blvd).  There, we will have a brief ceremony to honor those killed in a cycling/motorist accident.  The ride then returns to our starting point.  Please arrive early so that we can roll out on time.
