2yStar Emerald Trail 5K/10K Ride – Saturday, November 22, 2022
The annual Emerald Trail 5K event, sponsored by VyStar and presented by JTC Running and 1st Place Sports. The route for the run will cover the Emerald Trail “LaVilla Link” and will follow the S-Line.
The North Florida Bicycle Club is about bicycles, we typically view runners as people with broken bicycles. However, we are encouraging NFBC members to participate because this event supports the further development of the Jacksonville Emerald Trail. There will be a short 10K fun bicycle ride before the run, if you want to support the Emerald Trail without running.
The NFBC will also have an information booth at the event. We hope to encourage new social riders to join our club. If you come, please wear your NFBC bicycle jersey.

When completed, the Emerald Trail will be a 30-mile urban trail and linear park system connecting 14 historic neighborhoods to downtown, the St. Johns River, McCoys Creek and Hogans Creek. It will link 16 schools, two colleges and 21 parks to destinations like cafes, shops, festivals and events.
The race route will give runners, walkers and cyclists an up-close look at multiple points of interest along the future LaVilla Link and S-Line Rail Link segments of the Emerald Trail.
JTC Running states all proceeds from this event benefit Groundwork Jacksonville, the City’s non-profit partner in building the Emerald Trail. Overall, JTC Running expects to contribute $15,000 annually to the trail by holding the Emerald Trail 5K.
The North Florida Bicycle Club strongly supports this fund raising event. Please show your support by walking, running or cycling the VyStar Emerald Trail 5K on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Also wear an NFBC Jersey during your ride or run to show the community that the NFBC is actively supporting the Emerald Trail.
