Being a member of the NFBC Travel Team is easy and open to all NFBC members.
1) Register for the ride.
2) Wear an NFBC club jersey or NFBC major event jersey during the event.
3) Sign the NFBC Travel Team ride sheet and follow all NFBC ride rules.

Email Travel Team Captain, Virginia Deroy if you plan to participate.

GRAVEL & PAVED TRAIL RIDES AVAILABLE

RIDE OPTIONS: (Prices will increase after January 9, 2022) Rides Depart at 9 am. 

 

  • Big Bear Gravel: 100 miles  $30.00The most challenging and demanding ride starts on the paved trail and enters the Etoniah State Forest for a scenic route of challenging mixed terrain - lime rock, grassy roads, and sand. Some challenging short climbing and fast descents. Changing surface conditions due to rain or lack of rain can add to this challenging route. If you don't like sandy sections - we recommend the 45 or 22 mile rides. Recommended - tires, 33mm to 45mm - Mountain Bike or Gravel Bike. Two water stations, one rest stop, and lunch.
  • Gravel: 73 miles $30.00 Another challenging ride that starts on the paved trail and enters the Etoniah State Forest for a scenic route of challenging mixed terrain - lime rock, grassy roads, sand. Some challenging short climbing and fast descents. Changing surface conditions due to rain or lack of rain can add to this challenging route. If you do not like sandy sections - we recommend the 45-mile or 22-mile rides. Recommended - tires, 33mm to 45mm - Mountain Bike or Gravel Bike. Two water stations, one rest stop, and lunch.
  • Gravel: 45 miles $30.00 This ride starts on the paved trail and enters the Etoniah State Forest for a scenic route of mixed terrain - paved trail, smooth lime rock, and dirt. Surface conditions change according to rain or lack of rain. Some challenging short climbing and fast descents. Recommended - tires, 33mm to 45mm - Mountain Bike or Gravel Bike. Two water stations, one rest stop, and lunch.
  • Gravel: 22 miles $30.00 This ride will be led by experience ride leaders and is intended for those with physical challenges that use for example - Recumbent Trikes, etc and for those that would like an introduction to gravel biking. The ride starts on the paved trail and enters the Etoniah State Forest for a scenic route of mixed terrain - paved trail, smooth lime rock, dirt, grassy roads, and a wooden bridge. A fun course with mild elevation change. Recommended - tires, 33mm to 45mm - Mountain Bike or Gravel Bike. Two rest/water stops and lunch.
  • Paved Trail: 50 miles $30.00 Heritage Metric Century: Coventry Oaks Farm to west of Keystone Heights - 50-mile round trip out and back trip
  • Paved Trail: 38 miles $30.00 Goodson Prairie Roll: Coventry Oaks Farm to Twin Lakes Park and Trailhead - 38 mile out and back trip
  • Paved Trail: 22 miles $30.00 Rice Creek Spin: Coventry Oaks Farm to Florahome Park and Trailhead - 22.5 miles out and back trip
  • Paved Trail: Choose your distance (Family Ride) $30.00 Bardin Booger Ride: With parent supervision, distance of your choice and late departures after 9 am is OK. 

The paved trail rides are out and back along the new, beautiful, paved and shaded Palatka-to-Lake Butler State Trail. Route distances up to 56 miles on the dedicated paved trail. Skinny-tired Road bikes are ok here!

NFBC Travel Team riders. We already created the Team Name" North Florida Bicycle Club". So, when you register for the ride, please chose that as your team.

When you arrive at the ride on January 21, look for the NFBC flag.  The NFBC Travel Team sign-in sheet will be nearby.  You need to sign in, so your mileage gets counted.

January 21 8:00 AM EST - Check-in, On-Site Registration and Staging: 8:00 am - 8:45 am
January 21 9:00 AM EST - Ride Start: 45 & 22-mile Gravel Rides
January 21 9:00 AM EST - Ride Start: All Paved Trail Routes


AMENITIES

Amenities will include a post-ride meal of 1/4 BBQ chicken/sides/drink. Entertainment will be provided by Possum Trot, Blue Grass and Old-Time Dance music - a local favorite.

BENEFICIARY

Proceeds from the race will benefit A Women's Resource Center. 

 

Payment is only by Cash or check on the day of the ride. (No credit cards)
