About this event
We will ride 30 miles at a S/C pace with several rest stops. A NO DROP S/C pace ride with attention to cyclists who want to learn to ride with groups. Please check the NFBC Calendar and Forum (Announcements) for ANY changes to the ride start time or cancelations prior to leaving for the ride. At times we may ride faster than the posted speed. If you haven't ridden at this pace or distance you may want to practice on one of the paved bikes trails first. Join us as we bike around the Palatka to Saint Augustine Trail and surrounding area.
THIS RIDE COUNTS FOR CLUB POINTS AND MILEAGE.
A = 18-21 MPH / B = 14-17 MPH / C = up to 14 MPH
S = Social Ride. The emphasis is on the social aspect of the club, they are no-drop rides and the pace will be determined by the group at the start of the ride.
This month's ride will be held in conjunction with the 11th Annual Gullah Geechee Heritage Festival at Armstrong Park.
Music, dance, traditional foods, and craft celebrating 450 years of West African influence in St. Johns County.
Each year, the Armstrong community has been volunteering at the Tour de Forts at rest stops and registration, so please support them after the ride, by grabbing some lunch at the festival with your fellow cyclists.
The 30-MILE route will stay on the bike trail coming into and past Hastings and will not go out into the Federal Point area
