About this event

The North Florida Bicycle Club brings you a classic one-day bicycle event designed for all road cyclists, the 32nd Annual Endless Summer Watermelon RideSM.
Enjoy a wonderful bike ride on scenic Amelia Island through historic, tree lined Fernandina Beach, along the ocean and south to the Talbot Island State Parks. Come check out the League of American Bicyclists’ 2013 Bronze Level award winner, Fernandina Beach. Take your pick of five road routes: 21, 31, 48, 77 and 104 miles. Or choose the new 10-mile Family & Friends Fun Ride in Fort Clinch State Park.
We'll provide pre-ride snacks, rest stops stocked with food, water and Gatorade, marked routes, maps, mechanical support, SAGs, motorcycle safety escorts in Fernandina Beach, and a post-ride lunch.
CONSTRUCTION ZONE INSTRUCTIONS: At mile 23 on the 48, 77 and 104 mile routes there is a one-lane construction zone on A1A/Heckscher. Read this PDF for instructions on how to cross the construction zone:

Also please read the full 2021 Endless Summer Watermelon Ride safety brief. This shows photos and details of specific locations on the routes where you need to be cautious. Because it is mostly photos, it will only take 5 minutes to read.

Arrive on Friday or Saturday and make your ride a weekend getaway. Spend Saturday exploring historic Fort Clinch. Or take a tour of the city in a horse-drawn carriage. Or see the Amelia Island lighthouse, the oldest existing lighthouse in the United States.
